I met him 12 years ago. One of my best friends, Lauren Ritchie, and I started a summer dance intensive called RISE. We brought in the top dance faculty you’d normally only get at a massive convention, hosted a small group of 100 dancers, and included personal development/mental skills classes into each day. In our second year, tWitch ‘Stephen’ Boss came to our intensive and gifted us all with his talent, and even more so with this contagious energy and love.

“Where your attention goes your energy flows.” This message was shared, talked about and demonstrated in so many different ways at the Dr. Joe Dispenza week-long advance retreat I attended two weeks ago. In those 7 days I witnessed people stand up and walk out of wheelchairs, get their hearing back, improve recovery from a stroke, and so much more.

"Everywhere my feet are, I hold with sacred energy.” I wrote this in my journal a couple years ago and came across it again this week. The timing was on point given that this week I am attending Dr. Joe Dispenza's 7-day advance retreat in Orlando that is all about mastering energy and frequency.

This past week I got a phone call from my son’s hockey coach. In the past 12 years, I received a lot of phone calls from teachers, principals, care provides, coaches, or other parents asking to talk to me about my son. The conversations rarely have been easy and more times than not, I my heart is left feeling heavy and I'm searching for solutions to make things better.

When in the water offering a Watsu or Water Dance session, I meet every breath with beginningness. A movement that was comfortable and available to my client just a moment before, might not be now, or visa versa. An emotional release might have happened, they might have shifted into a deeper state of relaxation, or their bladder might be getting more full (it’s a real thing, you can’t hold your breath as long under water). Many factors create shifts in a moment.

I walked into the beautifully curated boutique store by my house and let out an audible “I get it” laugh when I read the above quote on a tea towel.

We can know ourselves in one moment, and then experience something that totally shifts our perspective and brings us into a new way of seeing. Visibly things look the same, but our meaning and understanding are different. It’s so Divinely awesome. And, can be confusing and met with resistance as well.

The water and I have been on an amazing journey these past 5 months. I have been initiated into the water healing modality of Watsu and Water Dance. The sessions I have offered so far on my journey have been ineffable. The water is my home, and bringing people into the healing waters has become one of my greatest privileges.

Life is giving us invitations all day long. And each invitation is 100% working in our favour if we choose to accept it and act on it. An invitation can be the nudge to smile and say hello to the person walking past you on the street, or to pay for someone’s coffee, or to write that poem or cook that recipe, or have a conversation with that employee, or research that idea.

One story can change a life. We don’t get to know when or how or who, and that is the mystical power storytelling holds. It connects us to each other.

Yesterday was National Book Lover's Day! I have so many books that have impacted my life in powerful ways. One of the things I love to do is gift books to people when a specific one comes up in conversation or when I'm reading a book and I think of someone.

As I write this, I am flying on my way to Boston to speak at an event taking place at Harvard Graduate School of Education . I left my house before sunrise for a 6am take off. Pressed back against my seat by nature's force as I ascended high above the earth, I saw the pink horizon in the distance. And then the plane rattled a bit as we pushed through the clouds, and with an almost blinding power and welcomed warmth, the sun beamed through the small airplane window and shone over my face and seeped into my soul. I gently closed my eyes, breathed and took it all in.

This week during a podcast I was interviewed on (not released yet), we ended up speaking about breath. At the end of the interview, I was asked to offer one “tip” listeners could take away as a first step to moving in the direction of becoming more of a conscious leader and a conscious company.
