A brand new moment...

In my last Invitation, I spoke about beginningness. This is a gift we give ourselves and others to grow in new perspectives and to change and expand in thoughts, words and actions. This practice of beginningness creates a life-giving relationship and connection to the world around us.

When in the water offering a Watsu or Water Dance session, I meet every breath with beginningness. A movement that was comfortable and available to my client just a moment before, might not be now, or visa versa. An emotional release might have happened, they might have shifted into a deeper state of relaxation, or their bladder might be getting more full (it’s a real thing, you can’t hold your breath as long under water). Many factors create shifts in a moment. The experiences my clients have are directly impacted by my ability to meet them as new at each session and in every breath. The person I meet at the end of a session is never the same one I met at the beginning. And I am in total awe every time.

On land, it is much easier to slip out of beginningness. The water creates a container, a womb of sorts, that supports with accessing this nature. I tell my clients when they leave the pool, “take this water with you. Take all you experienced here with you for it lives in you. It lives in the body of water that is you." And this is the same practice I use for myself. When on land, in my every day life, I connect to my experience in the water, the beginningness it offers, and it helps me reconnect that level a presence

Today’s the Invitation: look up from your computer or phone and see the space around you with complete sense of beginningness. Yes, pause, breath and try it right now. See it all as it is, and see you as you are in this brand new moment. No stories from the past or about the future. What is the space around you and/or within you saying to you today?

Part 2 of my conversation on Roxanne Derhodge, BSc., MSc., R.P. podcast Authentic Living is up now! We talk about practical ways in which organizations can create a culture and community where stress is reduced, connection and creativity is increased and the limitless potentiality of the people, purpose, products (services), and profits can continue to be experienced.
